I have been waiting the better part of a year to get my hands on the Too Faced Cosmetics Sweet Peach palette ($49), so when Too Faced re-released it in December, I was ecstatic. Of course I put my order in as soon as possible.
The palette comes in a tin casing, very similar to the chocolate bar palettes. There are small peaches, the sweet peach artwork and the Too Faced logo embossed on the lid. The package feels sturdy, but is a bit thicker and bulkier than competitors’ packaging.
When you open the palette, you can immediately smell a peach aroma. In fact, it smells almost exactly like the peach candy rings I ate as a kid. There is also a full sized mirror and the sweet peach artwork.
Now on to the shadows: I absolutely adore them. The formula is creamy, pigmented and blendable, consistent with Too Faced’s good reputation with eye shadows.
There is a good selection of shades, my favorites being Luscious, Bellini and Puree. Luscious is a beautiful rose gold, Bellini is a peachy pink shimmer with a hint of gold and Puree is a smooth matte warm brown which is a perfect transition shade.
My only complaint is, while these shades work for my fair skin tone, I feel as though there aren’t many shades for deeper skin tones.
There are three matte browns, but all three are more on the light-medium end of the spectrum. The two darkest shades, Talk Derby to Me and Tempting, both have a fair amount of glitter which may not work for some people as a transition shade. Also, Tempting is the only black in the palette, and I would prefer the black to be matte instead of shimmer.
Also, for being the peach palette, I would’ve liked to see a matte peach shade. Georgia is a beautiful peach shade, but it’s rather light. Summer Yum is gorgeous, but it’s more like a reddened brown. I would like to see a matte orange peach shade.
That being said, this palette is quickly becoming one of my Holy Grail products. I can create so many different looks with this palette alone, and it also plays well with other products as well.
If you are debating on getting this palette, do it! It is 100% worth the money.
