Anyone who knows me well knows I’m a face mask junkie. I have a different face mask on almost every night. So, naturally, I needed to try the GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment ($69).
I know, I know, $69 for a 1.2 ounce face mask jar? It’s steep. Really steep. But here’s the thing: I have never found a face mask that clears out my pores as well as this one.
I have combination/oily skin, and I get awful blackheads on my nose (tmi, I know) because I have ginormous pores. I have tried several different ways to clear my blackheads including Biore Pore Strips ($7.49), multiple clearing charcoal mud masks, charcoal sheet masks, homemade egg white strips, Lush Dark Angels Face Cleanser ($13.95), the list goes on. Literally none of these really got into my pores to clean out my blackheads.
So when I heard about this one, I thought it was way overpriced and overhyped. I stopped by my local Sephora and asked for a sample. That night, I tried this out on my problematic nose and I instantly saw a difference. As soon as I ran out of my sample I had to purchase the full size, that’s how well it worked for me.
This mask is pretty heavy duty: I would suggest only using it on your t-zone and chin once or twice a week. It does tighten on your skin and is slightly uncomfortable, but nothing too bad. I put on a Que Bella Pore Minimizing mask ($1.99 per mask) and it literally burned my face so badly I had to take it off right away. It left my skin red as all hell after only having it on for like 45 seconds. GLAMGLOW is much MUCH better than that.
So, is it worth the price? My final verdict is it is worth it for me because it’s the only face mask that has ever actually cleared out my pores. For people who don’t have that same skin issue, maybe they could go for a cheaper option. But until I find something less expensive that compares to this mask, I will keep repurchasing.
